New World Park is Penang's well known modern food court with local Penang dishes under one rood, located in the strategic location of Georgetown in Swatow Lane (汕頭巷) and accessible from Hutton Lane. New World Park also known as (新世界小贩中心) in Hokkien dialect and it is filled with great selection of hawker stalls including Penang Char Koay Teow, Rojak, Curry Mee, Bak Chang and Hokkien Prawn Mee with a little pricey than outside hawker stalls. Well, it's worth paying the extra 20-30-50 cents for each dishes considering the clean, cozy dining ambiance and large car park spaces cater even for tourists buses. The prices displayed by the hawker stalls here are still reasonable though. Don't forget to try the ICE Kacang with ice-cream which is one of the specialties in this hawker centre noted for. New World Park also offers a wide range of popular food and beverages in its premises including western restaurant, Mizi Bistro, Penang Chinese Cuisine Restaurant @ Starview Restaurant (仙景楼),  Old Town White Coffee, Starbucks and Banana Leaf Rice @ Passion of Kerala Restaurant.

If you are travelling from Burma Road, you will definitely identify the semi-alfresco, well-ventilated building of the New World Park with tall pink sign indicator labeling "New World Park". New World Park is officially opened in 2008 and has quickly gain fame as a happening place as Penang folks come here for lunch or dinner with choices from local cuisines to upscale, classy restaurants. Penangites often choose to chill out at Starbucks or Old Town White Coffee due to its strategic location in Georgetown.

New World Park Penang also feature a Centre Performance Stage which is a great stage for Penangites who love the outdoor activities. They often come here for exercise at the evening time in this recreational venue and enjoy relaxing moments at the wooden bench provided around the stage. Besides, we can also observe music performances from live bands, aerobics sessions and festive related activities during most celebratory occasions of the year. 

There are several stalls which I personally delights in for example the Char Ho Fan, Fried Rice, Fried Oyster and the Duck Meat Herbal Soup Noodle in this cooling dining atmosphere with good air circulation. You will most likely find most of Penang's street food here! Oh ya! Don't forget to look for the number on your table you are sitting and inform the food vendor while you are placing the food order. The food will then be promptly delivered to you according to your table number. 

Visitors staying at Tune Hotel Downtown Penang and New Savoy Hotel Penang are lucky enough because New World Park is just right next to these two hotels. Tune Hotel Downtown is situated next to New World Park's front entrance along Burma Road whereby New Savoy Hotel Penang is located next to the back entrance along Hutton Lane. New World Park operates daily from 10am till 9pm and with minimum parking rate at RM1 for first hour continue with subsequent hour rated at RM1.50. One of the oldest mall in Penang, the Penang Plaza is merely steps away to New World Park. Penang Plaza is located at 126, Burma Road and has recently re-furbished with modern and sophisticated finishing and interior. Visitors can easily walk to Penang Plaza for groceries in Giant Hypermarket or Guardian Pharmacy. You can enter the Penang Plaza is you are walking on foot navigating from New World Park, Nagore Road towards Penang Plaza.
